Meet our guide: Whitney Gouw

“I taught myself to fish about seven years ago, chasing every chance I could to be out on the water and learn something new. What began as curiosity quickly turned into a passion that’s taken me to some of the wildest and most beautiful places in the North. I’m proud to be the first female guide for Plummer’s Arctic Lodges on Great Slave Lake in the Northwest Territories. This winter, I’ll be stepping into my first season as an ice fishing guide on Lake Diefenbaker, and I can’t wait to see what adventures the season has in store. More than anything, I hope to inspire more young anglers and women to get out on the water and discover just how rewarding this lifestyle can be.
